STAR COURT STRATEGY GUIDE

First of all, to successfully plead NOT GUILTY you'll need:

1) To have the prosecution's evidence overturned or withdrawn and
2) An alibi

...by the time both the Prosecution and Defense have gotten a turn. Prosecution always goes first, then Defense, and then there's a Recess before the jury announces whether they've reached a decision.

ECCENTRICA CHARMING, the hot-shot lawyer, costs 1 of the 3 favors you start with. Whenever there's a choice to make, she'll always tell you the SAFEST choice to make, the choice with the highest chance of helping your case. Sometimes riskier options might have better rewards - potentially - and there are a few solutions she isn't aware of.

THE PUBLIC DEFENDROID will always tell you the WORST choice, usually one with zero chance of helping you. This can be useful information too.

COUNT WHISPERBAT's level affects nothing. Don't waste your favors on it.

Whisperbat will call one of six witnesses, including:

TIME TRAVELLER: There is a 100% guaranteed way to get him to withdraw his testimony, but it's convoluted. Good luck finding it!

CAT BURGLAR: Don't waste your favors trying to bribe her.

CRIME BOSS: There is a 100% guaranteed way to get him to withdraw his testimony, but it might cost you - or it might not! Whatever he says, don't break the pentagram.

You get to call up to two witnesses, and can ask either for an alibi or character testimony. Positive character testimony will earn you an extra favor at the end of the defense, so the best you can hope to do is establish an alibi and then get positive character testimony.

Venus Velva and Valencia St. Mission cost a favor each to call, but are the most reliable witnesses. Some of the other witnesses can actually incriminate you. Dagger Stilleto and Beep Boop will never help your case.

Sometimes witnesses won't pick up when you call. Spinach Arugala, Triskelion Motif, the Hive, and Beep Boop will always pick up.

Is praying worth it? Miracles happen, but not very often, and they don't always give you what you want.

You get two actions during Recess - use the first one to get your bearings on how the judge will rule when Recess ends. If you consult with Eccentrica, she'll tell you straight up. You can also find this information by hacking into the camera in the jury room, but you might get caught.

For two favors you can bribe the Judge. This will cause the Judge to either throw away the Prosecution's evidence, or, if there is none, to establish an alibi for you.

Escape IS possible.

Depending on which part of space Star Court is currently located in, one of six different alternate forms of trial will be offered to you.

TRIAL BY REENACTMENT is the least chance-based.

TRIAL BY CAT has pretty even odds.

TRIAL BY KNIFE-TOSS absolutely will not end well for you.
